Hip Hing awarded second Autodesk Hong Kong BIM Award

Hip Hing received an award at the Autodesk Hong Kong BIM Awards 2018 for the application of Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology on its proposed development at Tung Chung Town Lot No.2 & 11. The award ceremony was held on 26 October.

The private retail and hotel development project, located at Tung Chung Town Lot No. 2 and 11, consists of structural alterations to a shopping arcade and the construction of new facilities. "The overall project included new construction, demolition and reconstruction work sequences that were simulated with the help of BIM technology, which could assist in construction coordination and reviewing constructability," said John Lai, Project Manager and Froky Wong, Manager (BIM) of Hip Hing, "We conducted a 3D scanning survey for project planning and execution. The 3D scanning model provided the project team with accurate coordinate system data and identified the critical zone for demolition."

The Autodesk Hong Kong BIM Awards, organised by Autodesk Far East Limited, celebrates outstanding building industry professionals who help to drive the transformation of the building and construction industry through the usage of BIM. This is the second time that Hip Hing has been honoured with the award.
