Hip Hing-Vibro Volunteer team recognised for helping social enterprise expand business network

Hip Hing-Vibro Volunteer Team joined the "Social Enterprise Executive Development Experiential Programme", organised by the Hong Kong Productivity Council in 2018, to provide business advice to the Senior Citizens Talent Advancement Project Kwun Tong Centre, a social enterprise (SE) under The Salvation Army. The Volunteer Team provided recommendations to the SE to tap opportunities in the “silver hair market” and formulated ideas for a talent contest, which was launched successfully with a view to helping the elderly to enrich their third movement of life. The cooperation brought Hip Hing-Vibro Volunteer Team the accolade of SE Supporter Plus in the Tithe Ethical Consumption Movement 2018. The award ceremony was held on 24 January.

The talent contest targeted to inspire semi-retired or retired people to pursue personal interests and provide a platform for knowledge and talent dissemination. Activities included Chinese handicraft, martial arts and sports, sewing and cooking and instrument performances, and the like. The Volunteer Team also supported the SE by employing its elderly trainers to conduct a traditional Chinese lantern making workshop celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival with volunteers and underprivileged children.

Organised by the Fullness Social Enterprises Society, the Tithe Ethical Consumption Movement aims to encourage corporations to make purchases of SE products and services.
