Hip Hing bags gold awards in the Considerate Contractors Site Award Scheme

The award ceremony of the 25th Considerate Contractors Site Award Scheme was held on 27 May. Hip Hing garnered two gold awards for its CLP Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Substation (HZMB Substation) project in the categories of Considerate Contractors Site Award and Outstanding Environmental Management & Performance Award for Non-Public Works Sites - New Works (Group A).

The CLP HZMB Substation project team set out different strategies to ensure the project was delivered on schedule, and also to enhance management efficiency. For example, the team installed an on-site weather station to collect climatic data in order to take preventive measures coping with bad weather. Besides, frontline managerial staff members were arranged to attend confined space training courses with a view to strengthen the capability of high-risk work processes.

For the environmental management, the project team implemented green practices to preserve the environment, including promoting waste reduction and recycling at work; setting up renewable energy devices to provide partial electricity for site; and installing air quality equipment to monitor the indoor air quality, as well as to protect the health of employees.
