Hip Hing's West Kowloon Government Offices project team won the Silver Award at the Green Contractors Award Presentation Ceremony on 6 April 2017 for its outstanding environmental performance. Hip Hing has been honoured with the Green Contractor Award by the Architectural Services Department for the third consecutive year.
The project team has been implementing various green initiatives on the construction site, including the installation of rainwater collection and sprinkling system at the roof of site office for saving water; noise barriers for reducing noise; and green site hoardings for beautifying the environment.
The team also extended their environmental protection efforts beyond construction works. For example, a solar-powered mobile phone charging station has been set up at site and old PVC banners were transformed into card holders or recycled bags to promote green living among employees.
