Hip Hing and NAMI win gold medal in Geneva's Invention Exhibition

Hip Hing collaborated with Nano and Advanced Materials Institute Limited (NAMI) to develop the capsule technology for producing next generation super strong lightweight concrete. Hip Hing and NAMI received a gold medal at the 45th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva 2017 for the innovative capsule technology on 29 March.

The award-winning technology allows capsules to dissolve in alkaline-in-nature concrete after a pre-determined period for cell-structure formation. As a result, the new generation concrete can offer superior thermal and acoustic insulation properties. This new technology not only opens up a new charter for green buildings but also enables the production of super strong lightweight concrete on an industrial scale.
