Hip Hing wins design and build contract for Transport Department's VEC at Tsing Yi

Hip Hing has been awarded a contract by the Architectural Services Department for the construction of the Transport Department's Vehicle Examination Centre (VEC) at Tsing Yi.

Located at Sai Tso Wan Road, Tsing Yi, the new VEC is a multi-storey, multi-functional building consisting of a 3-storey inspection hall and a 7-storey office block with a total construction floor area of 64,350 M2. The scope of this project also comprises site formation, foundation construction, slope improvement works in addition to the superstructure, building services and fitting out works. The centre is targeted to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2020.

Upon completion, the new VEC will replace the three existing VECs in Kowloon Bay and To Kwa Wan and the daily handling capacity will be increased to 1,000 vehicle inspections per day.
