The Kai Tak Sports Park (KTSP) Grand Opening Ceremony was held at Kai Tak Stadium on March 1. A diverse array of sports, cultural and performing arts elites, together with celebrities from film, television and music, delivered spectacular performances to celebrate this landmark day, creating a memorable experience for over 30,000 spectators to enjoy.
The Chief Executive, Mr John Lee, the Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Mr Zheng Yanxiong; the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Chan Kwok-ki; the President of the Legislative Council, Mr Andrew Leung; the Convenor of the Non-official Members of the Executive Council, Mrs Regina Ip; the Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, Miss Rosanna Law and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kai Tak Sports Park Limited, Dr Henry Cheng, officiated at the Ceremony.
Hip Hing Deputy Managing Director, Mr Kenneth Ma, Director (Engineering), Mr Simon Lee, General Manager (Contracts), Mr. Eric Lau, joining Mr Andy Lau and honorable representatives from the Kai Tak Sports Park and all spectators, hosted a simple yet solemn ceremony, demonstrating the birth of the "Hong Kong Home Venue" together, celebrating the historic moment of the sports park's opening.
