CLP Chui Ling Road Substation Ground Breaking Ceremony

A ground breaking ceremony for the CLP Chui Ling Road Substation at Tseung Kwan O was held on 27 February. The ceremony was officiated by the top management of CLP Hong Kong Limited, Hip Hing Construction Co. Ltd. and the designer, ALKF+.  Hip Hing Construction was represented at the ceremony by Managing Director Mr. Chu Tat-chi, General Manager (Contracts) Mr. Barry Sin, General Manager (Business Development) Mr. Kenneth Ma and Senior Project Manager Mr. CK Wong.

The Chui Ling Road Substation will comprise two equipment buildings. The roofs of these buildings will be transformed into the largest sky woodland in Hong Kong with a size of 520 m2 and featuring a variety of small and medium tree species. The innovative greening scheme will not only help to improve air quality in the urban area, but also reduces solar heat absorbed by the buildings thus saving energy consumption on air-conditioning. The project is scheduled to be completed in June 2013.
