From the 1960s to the 1980s, the Ap Lei Chau Power Station provided power for the entire western area of Hong Kong and it was the largest power station in Hong Kong at that time. The scope of this project included the construction of the power station including chimneys, buildings for 3 sets of electric power supply generator and the associated transformer and controlling equipment. The power station was shut down in 1989.
