Sub-contractor’s Forum 2011
Hip Hing’s Sub-contractor’s Forum 2011 was held at the HKCEC on 7 December 2011. The forum was well attended, with around one hundred subcontractor’s representatives present. The theme of this year’s forum was “Mastering the challenges ahead through proactive cooperation”. The event is designed to optimise business partnerships and reinforce the imperatives of site safety and construction quality through interactive communication and discussions.
“Concurrent with the challenges arising from the implementation of the ten major infrastructure projects and the seeking of more business opportunities, we also have to attract new talent to the construction industry in 2012,” said Mr. Chu Tat-chi, Executive Director of Hip Hing Construction in the keynote speech.
The Forum started with a session given by guest speakers from the Construction Industry Council, Tin Wo Engineering Co., Ltd and Wing Shing Caisson & Foundation Ltd. The speakers shared their valuable experiences and useful tips on training new recruits, site safety and quality control.
Four themed discussions were then hosted by Hip Hing’s management team. These covered a wide range of topics, including safety management, quality inspection, financial matters and partnership with subcontractors. Each of these presentations was followed by a Q&A session to facilitate two-way communication, the exchange of ideas and experience sharing.
At the end of the Forum, Hip Hing’s management team provided feedback on the valuable comments and opinions collected from the previous Sub-contractor’s Forum and a survey conducted prior to this Forum. The views provided by the Sub-contractor’s will enable Hip Hing to develop solutions to strengthen the effectiveness of its relationship with its Sub-contractors. This is crucial to Hip Hing’s ability to deliver projects that meet the expectations of its clients.
