Temporary Quarantine Facilities at Penny's Bay (Phase IIIA)

The Temporary Quarantine Facilities at Penny’s Bay (Phase 3A) are located at Lantau Island. The Design and Construction project widely adopted Modular Integrated Construction (MiC) for 97% of the construction areas, which was combined with the innovative process of Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA). A a total of 901 MiC modules were fabricated to provide 857 quarantine units plus ancillary facilities. The project was completed within a very short time frame of 89 days, to support the efforts to fight the pandemic.
